Trick or Treat?

We took Lily trick-or-treating in my parents neighborhood. We got to my parents house early and carved our pumpkin. Lily was excited but I think she prefers carving online on this site because real pumpkins are "slimy" & "yuck" After we cleaned up that mess we made Halloween cookies. Lily likes to roll the dough.
Then we got ready for some fun trick-or-treating at 3 o'clock when it started. We made it all the way down Green Tree and then Lily told us she was too tired to walk anymore. Her candy bucket was totally full anyways so we walked back. Then, Lily helped Grandpa hand out some candy and played with the puppies who were decked out in costumes. A little while later Becky and family showed up so Lily and I went around the block with them in the other direction so we didn't hit up the same houses. Lily was Cinderella, I was a pumpkin, Nick was the Scream guy, and Braeden was a dragon. We filled up Lily's candy bucket a second time before going back to the parents house. Then for dinner we had Mom's super yummy Chop Suey!

Costume Carnival

Adam went to the Stratford vs Edgar football game with Aaron so Lily and I went with my parents to the Costume Carnival at Celebration church. We had to stand in the cold wind to get inside but after that it was nice. They had three big tents full of stuff to do. Two of them were filled with kiddie games (with prizes being candy of course) and the other tent was for food and a performer. Lily had a lot of fun playing all the games and she is really good at anything where you have to throw a beanbag into a hole. We had hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, popcorn and lemonade and then watched the performer for a while. Then, they did all the prize giveaways. Lily won a jump rope and a $5 gift certificate to Little Caesars Pizza. Then they had everyone in costume go up on stage for their costume contest. A few of our friends won prizes for that which was cool, including our friend Amanda who is 8 months pregnant so she went as a "xray in progress" Lily had fun playing with all the little kids and it was a good time.

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

Every year we go to Altenburg's on the way to Rapids to get a pumpkin and take some cute photos in the pumpkin patch. This year we actually got a really nice pumpkin from a regular store but someone stole it. Who does that really? Anyways, we had a good time even though it was really cold and windy and we got some adorable pictures

A weekend in the Strat

We went to Stratford this weekend. We got there on Friday night and everyone was at a football game in Pittsville so we made some food and hung out. Saturday we went to Marshfield to rent some video games for the Wii (we rented My Sims and Brunswick Bowling and some free movies for Lily) and also went to Wal*mart. At Wal*Mart we got Lily a new big girl carseat that uses the actual seatbelt. She always would weasel out of her seatbelt on her old carseat so we knew it was time for something different. The seat is really cool and even has little lights on the sides so she can see at nighttime. They also bought her some cute kitchen sets. One had a bunch of metal pots and the other one was a cutting board with a play knife and game with a bunch of foods you can 'cut' Each food was really two pieces with a piece of velcro in between so it actually looks, sounds and feels like you are really cutting the food. Lily played in her little kitchen a lot even wearing a cute apron while cooking and she'd set the oven timer and check on the food when it would go off. So cute! Michelle and Lily also spent some time painting pumpkins outside. Lily really loves to paint. We basically spent our time this weekend playing video games and just hanging out.

Our little dinner party

Tonight Aaron, Vanessa and Eric came over for a little get together at our house. Vanessa cooked her delicious beef tips with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and French bread. Soooooo yummy! We had two different kinds of apple pie and ice cream for dessert which was good too. We watched Heroes together and then the movie "Knocked Up" which wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be but did have its funny moments. It was nice being able to get together with our friends for a night of relaxing fun. I only wish Vanessa didn't have to work so much we could do this more often :)
