Michelle's Prom Weekend

One of the major things that happened this weekend is Adam got a haircut. He looks nice but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss his long locks. Anyways, this weekend was Michelle's Senior Prom. So before dinner Brandon came over so we could take a couple quick photos of them together. Then they went out to dinner and to the prom. Adam's parents, Adam, Lily and I went to the prom at about 10 o'clock for the prom coronation ceremony. At first I thought it was a little weird to bring your family to the prom, but there was a ton of parents and other family members there too (you can see some of them in the photo of Michelle coming down the stairs below) I guess it's a smaller town thing because we'd never do that at the proms here. Lily was a little scared when we got there because of all the people and the loud music...but then she found balloons and she was happy. Both Michelle and her boyfriend Brandon were on the Prom court even though for some reason they were not paired up together. Brandon and Hannah (who was on the court with Brandon and is one of Michelle's really good friends) ended up winning King and Queen together. So, we took some photos and then Michelle basically said "ok, you're done now" and we all left. It was strange but fun.

Fun at Becky's House

Today we went to Becky & Marks house to bring Braeden his birthday presents. Lily and Braeden had oodles of fun playing with his toys, in the sandbox and also riding around in his Diego Power Wheels truck!

Post-Trivia At Joes & The Awards Ceremony

After "The call" from Oz we quickly got ready to go to the post-trivia party at Joe's bar. It was fun seeing all the other teams and we hung out there for a little bit before heading to 90fm to get our trophy. We had no idea where we ended up in so every time they called a different team up we were increasingly happy. We ended up getting our 5th place trophy and were very excited...and then Eric broke it during a very nice speech that he was making about me carrying about contest so much. It went from nice and sentimental to everyone dying of laughter. It was a lot of fun

Trivia 39: The Trivia Invasion

This years trivia was a blast. We ended up coming in 5th place out of 433 teams! This year we were overflowing with people and last year we had a skeleton crew so it was quite different. The Trivia Stone was canceled because of the terrible weather we had that weekend so the stone crews were disappointed but it was nice seeing a little more of them around HQ. Trivia went pretty well overall and we had a great time. Below are some pictures from trivia but you can see many more on our webpage at http://dads-computers.com/Trivia2008/photos08.htm

Trivia Parade

The weather was terrible for the Trivia parade this year. I even called 90FM on Friday morning to make sure that the parade was still going to happen. It was raining, hailing, sleeting, slushing, and was very windy and cold. There was a definite decrease in floats this year probably because of the weather. Also, not to many people came out to see the parade but there was more than I thought there would be. We ended up throwing all of our candy and ping pong balls (which were decorated with our logo and shiny stars) Once the parade was over we were all soaking wet and cold. We ended up taking 2nd place in the parade and won another inflatable Point Guy and a couple packs of Point Soda. Then, it was a race back to HQ to get changed into our normal clothes and get warm.

Trivia Movie: Special RX

Gwyn, Vanessa and I got in line for the trivia movie at about 8pm. The guys were at Joe's and then met us in line at about 9:30pm. Then they picked up some pizza from Little Caesars and Wiza got me a Patty melt from Southpoint! We had fun waiting in line and chit chatting with some people from other trivia teams. The movie was okay but not the best. We only went to see it Friday night instead of our usual Friday & Saturday nights.

Trivia Float Prep

This year we wanted to make the trailer into the Star Trek Enterprise because our theme was Dad's Computers: The Wrath of Dad. Gwyn, Vanessa and I did most of the painting of float including the sideboards and the backboard. My dad did most of the other work including making the ship out of a couple of swimming pools and the ncells out of concrete tubes and red bowls. When Adam's dad brought the trailer to town our dads brainstormed to figure out how to get everything up high and looking good. They also made sure that the music was going to work this year so you could actually hear it! After all that the only thing we had to do was find costumes which was really nice. After it all Dad told me he's retired from the float-building business mostly because he pulled a muscle in his leg getting up and down off the float and it ended up being a lot of work. Thanks DAD!
