Eventful day

Today, Lily went to the doctor for her 1 year checkup. Everything was fine...she's 50% for weight, 25%-50% for height and 75% for head size. She had 4 shots in the arms this time which wasn't too fun.
Then we went to my parents house to help my sister with a project on the computer. We tricked Lily into taking some steps. Dad had her standing and I put my arms out and she took about 2 steps to me. It was adorable.
Later on, Lily had her first Happy Meal from McDonalds. She's getting so grownup.

Babies don't like salsa

So, apparantly I dropped a tomato out of the Tositos Medium Salsa I was snacking on so of course Lily found it & put it in her mouth. She ate it & was fine for a second...then the spicyness kicked in and she started screaming. I tried to give her milk in a sippy cup but she was too upset so I had to feed her like a baby bird with a straw. Once she realized it was cooling she drank it normal & was okay.
In other news Adam has an ear infection. He has had a headache for almost a week then his ear started hurting so I made him go to the doctor. Now, he's on amoxicillin, mucinex & tylenol PM so I'm hoping he'll feel better soon.
Otherwise not much else going except I've been doing lots of trivia notes woohoo

Lily's Birthday Party

Lily's birthday party went very well. Gwyn came by to help set up which was really great. She helped decorate and such and got Lily ready while I ran to Wal-mart to get some prints printed for a little poster I was making for the party. Well, the lady who was at the kodak machine was printing 105 pictures and this was at 2:30 (Party was at 3) so needless to say I had to leave with no picts. The poster still turned out okay with what I already had printed. People began arriving early so I ran in the house took a trivia-style shower and the party began. I got stuck in the kitchen for a while cooking and everyone else hung out in the living room and chit-chatted. Then, we all had food (lots of food) Next it was presents time. Lily got lots of awesome gifts (Thanks everyone!!!) and she had fun playing with them that night. Cake time was really fun. Lily was really tired at that point because she had not napped at all. But we sugared her up by giving her a little cake to tear apart. She ate lots of cake, well frosting at least and tore up the cake. Then we also had Ice Cream Cake for everyone from Dairy Queen which was super yummy. After that the party was basically over as the guests dwindled out. Lily and I took a nap from 7-10 which was good... then the Frankliners came over and we played SceneIt and TrivialPursuit-PopCulture2. We stayed up til like 1 partying with them and then finally went to bed.

Ramblings

Well, not much to post about really, but I need a reason to procrastinate doing my dishes ;)
Lily's 1 year birthday is coming up this Saturday and I can't believe it's been a year. People always told me that's what I'd feel but I didn't believe them. Adam and I were looking through Lily's baby pictures for a lil project I'm doing for the party and we were amazed on how little she was compared to now. We even get to change to the forward-facing carseat now which will be very weird but I'm sure she'll like it better because she'll be able to see us.
Isn't it funny when people who barely know you can still guess what you are thinking or what your plans are? anyways...
Do you hate sorting socks? I do... I just did a HUGE load of whites including mostly socks and I still have this LARGE ziploc bag with mismatch socks. How is that possible? Is my machine eating the socks or are there sock-gnomes? Bah.
Okay, that's really enough babble for now...I'm off to do dishes and maybe watch a movie WOOHOO

Happy New Year!

My new years eve was a bit crazy...
My whole family was in town (Steve & Family, Cindy & Family, Becky & Family) so for New Years Eve morning we all went to Becky's for Nick's birthday party. Then, we went home and I searched my house for my swimsuit which I didn't find at the time. Steve and Family had a hotel room for the weekend so all of us went there for a nice swim. The water was cold but Lily still had a blast laughing while shivering. We got out of the pool and watched all the boys tackle Steve and get spun around and were thrown up in the air. Well, aparently Nick doesn't like to be dunked...and Steve was trying to get away from him because he was being kinda strangled...so Steve went underwater. Nick didn't let go for some reason so he went underwater too and when he came up he started puking in the pool. Eww. So, then we had to get everyone out of the pool and we notified the front desk about the situation and they said they'd close the pool til the next day because the pool cleaning person doesn't come til 11pm. So then Cindy and fam went to her inlaws for dinner and Becky & Nick went home. Steve and family and Adam, Lily and I all went to Four Star for dinner. It was yummy and Lori & I were quite giggly watching Jonathan and Lily eat while sitting next to each other. Then we stopped at Copps for snacks and went to my parents house to party. Mom & Dad went to the new Holiday Inn to see their favorite Elvis inpersonator, Dennis Wise. Well, we all drank and played some games and then Cindy and Family joined us and such. After the ball dropped, Steve and Adam had fun entertaining us by lighting a whole bunch of Bottle Rockets that Steve had left over. Then we cleaned up our mess and all left there at about 1am.
