Weekend So far

Well, things have been okay so far this weekend. Most of my friends went to Chicago for a Cubs game so Adam, Lily and I have just been hanging out at home. My grandma is in the hospital write now with pneumonia so Lily and I went to visit her on Friday. Lily and I both have colds though now so we don't want to visit her again and infect her. Adam played some darts on Friday night but was home early because he was playing for Shaun and I guess Shaun had another alternate too and they both came. It's okay though he got to have Marvin's and we got to catch up on a couple eps of Ghost Hunters. We are getting inspected AGAIN this upcoming Thursday so I'm trying to clean and organize as much as I can even though no matter how clean it is I'm sure they'll find something wrong...they always do.

Movie Ending Rant

What is with movies these days? Why can't they just give you a damn happy ending instead of a sad or pseudo-happy ending? We watch movies to be entertained and even if a movie is good all the way through and then the ending isn't happy...it like ruins it for me. It's a movie, not life. Give me a damn happy ending!!!

A Fun and Social night @ the Frankliners

Well, since Lily was feeling so much better today we decided to have some fun & get out of the house. Vanessa invited us over to grill out at their house. I brought some random foods from our house and went there. We had hamburgers and hot dogs that were very yummy. We hung out in their garage which is full of couches and tv trays so it was pretty cool. Then, the boys decided they wanted us to go and buy "baggo" which is some sort of bean bag game like horseshoes, so they sent Vanessa, Lily and I to the stores. We went to Kmart and they didn't have it so we picked up some candy and a couple little balls for Lily to play with. Next we went to Dunham sports where they actually knew what we were talking about and even had the Baggo beanbags but were out of the actual sets. So, off to Shopko we went were we didn't find Baggo but we did end up buying Rodeo golf. We've seen people play this while waiting for the Trivia Movie so we thought it would be fun. It's hard to explain so here's a link with some info Rodeo Golf It was only $20 at Shopko (they had one of these at Dunham and it was $50!) so we got a deal and it ended up being a really fun lawn game. After we played for a while we came back home and Adam and Lily went to sleep. I'm up now organizing pictures and bloggin' :)

Lily Update 2

Met with Lily's regular Doctor today. She said her urine culture came up with nothing wrong so that was good. He said she has a virus that's like Rosiola. Basically you get a fever for 2-3 days then a rash the next day and then you are fine. No rash yet for Lily but her fever has gone back to normal so far since 10 o'clock. It's good because she's acting like LILY again...running around and playing with her toys and she has an appetite back. The Doc also explained Febrile seizures alot better than the ER doc did. Basically, a child's brain can't deal when their temp goes from normal to high fever quickly...so that's whey they seizure. He said 2/3 of kids who have one febrile seizure don't have one again - so I'm hoping that Lily falls into that group. Watching your little baby have a seizure is really scary.

Lily Update

Well, Lily slept until 11:30am and then stayed awake only til 2. She was normal acting but really tired which I'm sure is because of the fever. I had to take her to Wal*Mart to pick up her antibiotics that were prescribed and she was acting really dopey there too. We got a cool pacifier-thermometer which is really cool (because she doesn't scream and squirm like with the other thermometer methods) and it was 101.9 degrees. When we got home she proceeded to puke all over me again and we called the nurses system they have for after hours. She pretty much said just keep watching her and if anything else happens to call her back and she'll page a doctor to talk to us. So, we have a checkup with our normal doctor tomorrow at 10:15 so hopefully he'll have some answers...

2am ER Visit

Last night at 2am I noticed Lily shaking uncontrollably & she was still asleep. She was having a febrile seizure. I picked her up and noticed she was super warm. I tried to take her temp under her arm but she wasn't very cooperative so I only got a reading of 101.3 We decided to give her some tylenol but then she suddenly threw up...green. So, we called my Mom & decided to take her to the hospital. They took her temp & it was 104 degrees. They also needed a urine sample so they had to give her a catheter. For some reason they tried like 5 different times to get it in. They didn't up being successful until she peed on them. She ended up having bacteria in it so they are running a two day test & gave her antibiotics for now. It was a really scary night for her so she slept today until 11:30am. She's okay now but still pretty sleepy.

I've seen where the magic happens...

Well, I was invited to Beatles Fest at the Oliva household yesterday. Adam, Aaron, Lily and I went (although Adam only stayed for like an hour because he doesn't feel good) Jim showed us his Trivia Basement where all the question and answer writing happens! It was crazy down there lots of books and TONS of magazines. It was really cool of him to show it off to us.
The party was fun... the most entertaining though had to be watching everyone who was crazy drunk and singing along to Beatles songs. The food was super delicious especailly the pulled pork sandwiches and the turkey.
Adam came to pick up Lily at about 8:30pm because she was super tired. He said she fell asleep on the ride home...so that's good. She was running around yard at the party pretty much the whole time.
Aaron and I stayed til like 1am when Vanessa came to pick us up. It was a good time talking to other trivia people and just hanging out listening to the Beatles.

Happy Easter

Easter Weekend, so far

Well, it's like 1am on Easter Sunday and I just woke up because it's really hot in the room I'm sleeping in at Adam's parents house.
Saturday was fun filled with family stuff. We took Lily to 2 egg hunts in town...one at piffner park and one at New Beginnings Church. She ended up getting 15 eggs total with candy but no prizes. Then, we went to my parents house to color eggs...but Lily just ate 2 of the hard boiled eggs instead...silly Lily.
After lunch at Bill's Pizza and a quick packing job we were off to Stratford to the in-laws. We took their pontoon boat out for it's first spin which was pretty fun. Lily looks so cute in a life jacket! Then, hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner and we played Trivial Pursuit. Michelle & I against Adam and his mom. Michelle and I were winning by two pie pieces before we ended up quitting because Adam's mom was hunting around for her check book and Lily was way overtired. We gave Lily a bath and then went to sleep at like 10pm. And now here I am awake and overheated.

Trivia is over, time for sleep

Hey there in blogging land...I'm back and alive and starting to get over my "Trivia Hangover" Still haven't moved out of HQ yet been too lazy to pack up the computers but we will be doing that tomorrow.
Trivia went super well, made it to the Top Ten again which is totally awesome. There were some weird glitches in the scoring program so we ended up missing 960 points but it seems that all the other teams were also missing points. I'm not going to complain though because hullo, TOP TEN!
It's weird going back to real life now...but i'm sure it will be more weird when I'm actually at home all day instead of here at HQ.
Thanks to everyone on the team and anyone else who helped in all things trivia!
